Frequently asked questions
Why don’t you have a physical address listed on your website?
Because we don’t have one. Hah. We are both freelancers that have teamed up to create Danka Marketing & PR, a home-based, family-owned and operated business.
I don’t get it. Are you in Seattle or Phoenix?
Both.
But if you’re a two-person company, how are you in both places?
Simple. Jeff lives in Seattle and runs Danka operations there while Carla does the same in Phoenix. We are constantly instant messaging, video skyping or on the phone so it’s pretty much like we’re in the same office most of the time.
Why small businesses and nonprofits?
Just google “website design” and see how many hundreds of results you get.
Most of these companies are:
A. Large agencies that charge hundreds of dollars per hour, tens of thousands for a website.
B. On the complete other end of the spectrum, non-local companies that are anywhere in the world offering generic and often poor-quality products, the pitch being "low price". It's worth keeping in mind this old saying: "The bitter taste of poor quality lingers long after the sweet taste of low price is forgotten." Because you will never meet these people it may be hard to determine if they are for real. Most small businesses and nonprofits simply don’t have the budget for A and would prefer to avoid the pitfalls of B. That's where we come in.
With decades of combined experience in small businesses and nonprofits, we knew when we started Danka Marketing & PR that nothing else made sense but to provide service to these types of organizations that we care about the most.
We have to be honest and say that the current economic state is also a major influence for us. Small businesses and nonprofits may be what make cities around the country unique, but right now they are shutting doors left and right and struggling to hang on. As involved members of our own communities, we have a personal interest in seeing our cities become stronger, more sustainable and more distinctive in their own right.
At Danka Marketing & PR, we truly strive to help small businesses prosper during this downturn by offering smarter, more effective and affordable marketing to directly increase profits and help grow your business. For nonprofits, we use targeted marketing and pr to increase public visibility, which strengthens volunteer and donor bases and keeps communities vested in the organizations that serve their most important needs.
How much do you charge?
Our slogan is “big marketing for small business.” And we really mean it. Our mission is to provide high-quality services to small businesses, which would be impossible if we made our pricing out of reach for the companies we work with and those we want to work with.
Think of it this way:
Let’s say you need a brochure produced for your company. Without getting all confused by numbers here, let’s just compare what your brochure fee has to cover when you hire an agency compared to when you hire us.
With an agency, the fee you are charged for a brochure (besides printing, paper and delivery) has to cover costs like rent for offices & furnishings, marketing and advertising, sales commissions, salaries for the multiple employees designing, writing, editing and approving your brochure; salaries for the multiple administrative employees that hire, manage and pay those designers and copywriters, break room coffee and water cooler, company retreats, company barbeques, company awards, executive bonuses and golden parchutes – you get the idea.
With Danka Marketing & PR, the fee for your brochure simply has to pay the hourly rate for whichever Danka team member is working on it. That’s it.
We know we’re not exactly answering the question, but with every project being so different, it’s impossible to list prices on our website. For a fast quote, please just fill out this form and we’ll get back to you asap with a custom quote for your project.
How long will you take to finish my project?
Naturally that depends on the project. That said, all the things that make us so much cheaper than a big agency, also mean we work much faster. Working from home allows us to scrap the good ol’ 9 – 5 routine and work when we want to and more importantly, when we need to. We work very closely with our clients and through frequent communication and total transparency, we ensure that our customers always know exactly where we’re at on their jobs.
